And I have my pretty Tolumnias again!!! I've always loved this genus and its hybrids, so of course I had to get some given the chance.

Onc. George McMahon 'Fortuna'
This one is a plant I might lose. When it first arrived, it had a quarter sized spot of soft tissue on the back of it's pseudobulb. I cut it out and covered it with cinnamon, and it hasn't spread, but over the month or so that I've had it, it's continued to lose it's leaves and further shrivel up. There isn't much left to it. I might make an update post on it once I'm done with all the original posts.
Onc. Twinkle 'Ember'
And now we're on to a different set of plants. This coming set were purchased for me by a friend at the Montréal show back in October. The first of which is an Onc. Twinkle with a colour combination I haven't really seen before. The downside to that is there doesn't seem to be much of a fragrance compared to other Twinkle cultivars.

Phal. NoIDs
Now normally I don't pick up NoIDs, but the large standard was bought for me by my ex, and the miniature harlequin I picked up when my orchid fever was starting to get bad.

Phal. (Lyndon Lyric x tetraspis)
Another from the 2015 AD haul. This Phal also did nothing for a while, but has made a new leaf, started a new leaf recently, and is making new roots. I did get three blooms out of it a while ago, but the spike has done nothing since then. Flower pics included!

Phalaenopsis (Sogo Lisa 'OK' HCC/AOS x Haur Jin Princess 'TR' HCC/AOS)
Here is a Phal that I got from a member of my OS who actually bought it from Peter Lin, the owner of Big Leaf Orchids, which is down in Texas. This plant was probably the most vigourous of all my Phals, making three whole leaves, and working on a fourth. I have been frequently checking for spikes.
Sophrolaelocattleya Mahalo Jack

Cattlianthe Jeweler's Gem
This little gem, (Ctt. Trick or Treat x Soph. coccinea) has had a rough life. Two of the developing leads I have ruined by peeling away the protective sheath in search of buds, and one rotted some how. I have finally been rewarded for my non-pickyness by a sheath! There is also another lead that is almost mature, and another two or three that are just starting to grow, so I hope to get a lot more blooms in the future.
Tolumnia NoID

Brassavola Grand Stars '#2'
This B. Grand Stars (Little Stars x nodosa 'Remar') is a sibling of the one I have mounted. The pictures is of another sibling that was in bloom, and it was displayed by the member that grew and sold the 'chids that came from a compot he bought. Unfortunately, the bud you see in the above pictures blasted, which was a huge disappointment, as I am going to have to wait a couple of weeks before I see a bloom. Fortunately, it has the one pictured growth in sheath, and another two leads that I think will also bloom. I was incredibly eager to see a plant of this cross in bloom for myself, which is why I bought this one.. I also plan to do LOTS of breeding with this cross, so I wanted a second one for that purpose also.
Oncidium Gold Dust
Here is a cute little seedling of Onc. (Twinkle x cheirophorum) I got from a member who had a compot of these. She also had an adult there in full bloom with a dozen or so p'bulbs in a 4'' pot. I took a picture of the blooms with my phone. The blooms where small and cheery, and had a delightful scent. I am excited for mine to bloom, whenever it chooses to do so.
Bulbophyllum macraei
Of the 10 Bulbos I got from Cloud's, this Bulb. macraei, was the only one in spike. The non-smelly blooms were a about an 1 3/8" long, and lasted for about a week. Shortly after blooming, the newest lead sent out a new growth that ended up rotting, but thankfully the previous growth has sent out a new lead that made it past the place where the other one rotted. I really like the shape of this one's leaves!

Lc. Fragrant Beauty 'Purple Cascade'
Okay, so normally I would completely walk by a NoID, but this one caught my attention because it was the only one and still is the only Catt I have ever seen offered at a grocery store. Conveniently for me, somehow a member of my OS got the name for this, and seeing that they are all mericlones, I got to put the name on mine. This 'chid had a rought life indeed. It had six p'bulbs when I got it, but it had no roots whatsoever. I divided it into three two p'bulb parts, and eventually the back one died, the middle one struggled, put out a stunted new growth, and then died. Thankfully, the stronger front two made it. It first made a stunted little growth no larger than an inch, but then sent out another that grew much larger. It is just starting another, so hopefully it will continue to improve. I think it could bloom on the growth after the new one!
Phalaenopsis (Tying Shin Cupid x Super Stupid)
This plant is anther one of my Phals that grew rampant this summer. It had tons of slightly fragrant blooms on a well branching inflorescence, a common feature of Tying Shin breeding.

Phalaenopsis NoID
This little NoID is one lucky 'chid! This was one of the first few Phals I bought, and of course coming from the grocery store, it was a NoID. Sometime this summer it must have got minor crown rot or something, as it hasn't grown any new leaves. I was going to chuck it, but it redeemed itself by growing what looked like a spike, but ended up being a kieki, which was also good. It redeemed itself from the OS sale table when it once again put out what looked like a spike, but is now clearly another kieki. Finally, this plant has earned its spot in my closet when the bigger kieki finally sent out what appears to be a spike. It could possible be another kieki, but I doubt it. It just goes to show that threatening your 'chids gets them moving!
Phal. ATL Crossing
YAY!!! I bought this one last year from a member of my OS who does breeding with Phals, and it had two spikes when I got it. After making an astoundingly large amount of roots and three new leaves, I now have a new spike growing. Hopefully I do get another one, but I am quite happy, as this will be my first standard Phal to go from spike to bloom for me.

Phalaenopsis speciosa v. christiana
Okay, first off, this plant is commonly known as Phal. tetraspis 'C#1,' but it is now called Phal. speciosa v. christiana. When I bought this from Kingfisher Orchids, it had a total of nine spikes and subspikes, and as you can see, it is now working on #10, which is actually spike #5. It currently has two blooms, one of which I have pollinated with my Phal. Penang Girl, and the other one was a tad ugly, so no photos for you! I plan on pollinating it with pollen a friend from the US is donating to me, Phal. mannii 'Red Spider.' I hope they both work!
Phalaenopsis cornu-cervi v. flava
Ohh Phal. cornu-cervi v. flava, you have had a rough life, which started right after I got you from the vendor. Almost all of its' roots where rotted, and the latest leaves were stunted. It has finally slowly grown some new roots and new leaves, which were also small, but have been slowly getting larger.
Phalaenopsis Penang Girl
Ahh, nostalgia. This is the first ID'd Phal I bought, and the first Phal to bring into bloom. The first bloom was a disappointment, as it was just the cream background with the purple splotch on the lateral sepals. As you can see, this bloom was WAY better! Hope it keeps improving.
